Turanj is a small settlement in north Dalmatia, in the near vicinity of Biograd and Zadar. This picturesque and tranquil place is an ideal location to spend relaxing holiday. Turanj developed from a fortress that was built for defence during Ottoman invasion in Europe. Less than a hundred year ago, it was still enclosed behind the walls and towers of the fortress. Today the place has developed along the coast, stretching around 4 kilometers. There are also many islands and islets in front of Turanj, of which Babac island is the only one that is inhabited. Due to its excellent geographical position, Turanj makes a great starting point for exploring Dalmatia and surrounding regions as many National and Nature Parks can easily be reached from there, such as Krka or Kornati Archipelago.
